Peter Monette, Ph.D. is the Manager of Bioethics and Science Advice for Health Canada. He has been with Health Canada since 2001 providing strategic policy advice on bioethical issues such as emerging technologies, genetics, biobanking, public health ethics, and research involving humans. From 2006-2009, he was assigned by Health Canada to be the Secretariat for the Sponsors’ Table for Human Research Participant Protection in Canada. He is currently Canada’s representative at the UNESCO Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee and the Council of Europe’s Committee on Bioethics. In 2012, he received a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his achievements at Health Canada.
