Laura Accettola is an accomplished leader with over 19 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharma sector. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, St. Michael’s College, with a Major in Biochemistry and Nutritional Sciences, and a Minor in Italian. She obtained her Master of Science degree conducting research in energy metabolism at the Department of Human Biology and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph.
In September 2016, Laura joined Hoffman-La Roche Limited where she is currently the Director of Global Study Management in Oncology. She was formerly the Director of Global Study Operations at Amgen Canada. In this position, she led a team of over 100 staff conducting approximately 70 active clinical trials at centres across Canada. Laura worked at Amgen for over 16 years in various positions both in Canada and the UK. In 2012-2013 she spent 14-months on International Assignment as Director and Regional Head of Global Study Operations based in London, England, where she oversaw clinical research in 17 countries across Europe and Africa. Laura has also worked in the area of Value and Access, supporting reimbursement and health economic strategies for Amgen Canada.
Laura began her industry experience at AstraZeneca in Oncology. She has been an Advisory Board member for the OICR (Ontario Institute for Cancer Research) and has also participated and led several global initiatives, including the development and implementation of Amgen’s innovative Risk-based Monitoring Model.
